A new study has been published in JMIR Formative Research, examining the clinical and operational impact of integrating the U-Care Renal Platform into routine ICU practice.
The pilot study, conducted at SCIAS Hospital in Barcelona, analysed 202 postsurgical adult ICU patients, comparing the periods before and after the introduction of the platform.
In the pre-post comparison, relative reductions of 22% in the incidence of moderate and severe AKI, 28% in the daily administration of nephrotoxic drugs and 30% in hypotensive episodes among patients who developed AKI were observed.
Although this was a pilot study conducted at a single center, the findings provide new insights into the potential of the U-Care Renal Platform in routine clinical practice. The study helps broaden the evaluation of the platform beyond predictive performance alone by examining its integration into clinical workflows and its association with clinical and operational indicators in the ICU.
